Three simple ways to find an article

  1. Search the journal name: use “Sriwijaya Journal of Surgery” to distinguish SJS from journals with similar names.
  2. Use the identifier: search by e-ISSN 2722-3558 or the article’s DOI when available.
  3. Return to the published record: follow the DOI or SJS article link for the abstract, authors, and published PDF.

Accreditation profiles, discovery services, and DOI infrastructure serve different purposes. Coverage and metrics are maintained by each provider. The SINTA and GARUDA cards link directly to their official journal records.

Citation visibility in Scopus is described on the Citation Analysis page and does not establish Scopus journal indexing.

Selective and non-selective services

The services above differ in kind, and the difference matters when the journal’s visibility is assessed. A selective service admits journals after an evaluation; a non-selective one harvests whatever is technically available. Inclusion in a non-selective service shows that the journal’s metadata is well formed and openly available — a technical achievement, not an assessment of quality.

The journal’s serial registration is held separately by the ISSN International Centre under e-ISSN 2722-3558, where the record is marked confirmed. Registration of a title is not indexing.

About the SINTA listing

SINTA is the national index maintained by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. A journal appears there as a consequence of national accreditation through ARJUNA: the SINTA profile displays the accreditation rank awarded by the national assessment, currently Sinta 5 for SJS. It is listed here because it is a real and verifiable record, and because readers and authors in Indonesia look for it — but it reflects the outcome of accreditation rather than the judgement of a third party, and SJS does not present it as an international index.

What the journal does to be indexable

Admission to an index is granted by that service, never claimed by the journal. What SJS controls is meeting the conditions every reputable service requires: a registered e-ISSN and stable title; a registered DOI for every article under prefix 10.37275, with metadata deposited to Crossref and kept resolvable; complete structured metadata in English exposed for harvesting; documented peer review with published stages and timeframes (Peer Review Policy); a stated publication frequency; an explicit licence on every article (Copyright and Licensing); published editorial and ethical policies, indexed at Journal Policies; preservation and self-archiving arrangements (Preservation and Self-Archiving); and a named, contactable editorial office with transparent ownership (Ownership and Management Information).

Claims the journal does not make

SJS is not indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed/MEDLINE, or the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and makes no such claim anywhere. Any website, email, or agent stating otherwise in the journal’s name is not acting for SJS and should be reported to sriwijayajournalsurgery@gmail.com.

Being cited in a database is not being indexed by it. The Citation Analysis page counts citations received from articles that those databases index. It shows that SJS work is read and used; it is not evidence that SJS is itself indexed there, and is never presented as such.

Being listed is not being indexed. A record in a directory, or an application under evaluation, means the journal is visible to that service — not that the service has admitted it. SJS lists a service here only once admission has been granted and a reader can confirm it by following the link. A pending application is not listed, and is never described as “indexed”, “in process”, or “soon indexed”.

SJS publishes no impact factor, and does not apply those words to an indicator issued by a service that does not calculate one. Where any quantitative indicator is reported, its source and date are stated with it.

Reporting an inaccurate claim

Overstated indexing misleads authors about where their work will be discoverable, and under Indonesian national journal accreditation it is treated as a serious breach. If you find a claim on this website, in a call for papers, in an email, or in any material issued in the journal’s name that you cannot verify in the service named, write to sriwijayajournalsurgery@gmail.com with the wording and where you saw it. The journal will correct it and say publicly that it has done so.
